Dr. Hoyos has a particular interest in helping with:

Depression and anxiety 

Interpersonal and family relationship issues

Chronic pain and trauma

Emotion regulation difficulties and behavioural issues 

Dr. Santiago Hoyos provides assessment and counselling to teens and adults. He is able to offer services in both English and Spanish.

In his work with clients, Santiago draws from several empirically-supported approaches, including mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (mCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational psychotherapy, and Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT).

Santiago completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Medaille College in Buffalo, where he previously earned a Maters’ degree in Psychology. He has held clinical positions at the John Howard Society of Niagara and the District School Board of Niagara, at Pathstone Mental Health, at Dr. Andrea Miller & Associates, and at Brookside Psychologists.

Santiago is an eligible provider with the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, which provides free access to services to individuals that hold Indian status (SCIS) in Canada, after they have been approved by the program.
