MEET dr. jean-philippe gagné

Dr. Gagné is especially interested in helping with:

Anxiety, worry, phobias, perfectionism

Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders

Mood difficulties and trauma

Insomnia

Jean-Philippe works virtually with adults who are struggling with anxiety disorders (e.g., panic, social anxiety, worry, phobias, health anxiety), obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, perfectionism, insomnia, and difficulties with repetitive behaviours (e.g., tics, hair-pulling, skin-picking). 

Dr. Gagné primarily utilizes cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) in treatment and tailors his interventions to his clients’ individual needs by incorporating elements from dialectical-behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, as needed. He approaches treatment with empathy and a collaborative stance, consistently ensuring there is a mutual understanding of clients’ difficulties. He has held positions at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic; Mood Disorders Program), the McGill University Health Centre (CBT Unit), and McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School (OCD Institute).  He completed his Ph.D. at Concordia University.
