MEET DR. EVA MUHARIB
Dr. Muharib is particularly interested in working with individuals dealing with:
Fear, anxiety and worry (including OCD)
Post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and other difficult life experiences
Chronic pain and adjustment to illness
Dr. Muharib works primarily virtually. She helps adults who are struggling to cope with stressful life experiences and distressing emotions.
Dr. Muharib strives to offer a therapeutic space that is collaborative and non-judgmental. She balances understanding and accepting clients as they are with promoting positive change that is aligned with their goals and values. Eva has extensive experience working with clients at all ability levels and thus has experience adapting her therapy approach to different clients’ learning and thinking styles.
Dr. Muharib draws from several therapeutic approaches that seek to change the relationship clients have with their thoughts and emotions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based approaches. Therapy is tailored to the needs of the individual client and their goals.
Dr. Muharib completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at York University. Her recent professional experiences include positions at Toronto Western Hospital, the York University Psychology Clinic, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, and Alberta Health Services.
