MEET DR. ANYA MOON

Dr.  Moon is especially interested in assisting with:

Anya Moon is the Director of Clinical Training at the Mindful Living Centre. She works in the Burlington, Oakville and Milton clinics, as well as providing virtual sessions. Anya enjoys working with adults struggling to make and maintain behavioral change in areas such as substance use, addictive behaviors, anxiety, and depression. In addition, Dr. Moon works with clients interested in enhancing interpersonal functioning and learning skills for navigating relationships, particularly in the domains of narcissism and co-dependency.

Dr. Moon believes the therapeutic relationship is key to change and she emphasizes collaboration, mutual respect, and compassion. 

Dr. Moon specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and interpersonal approaches. She received her Ph.D.
in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to joining the MLC she worked for 13 years at the Center for Treatment of Addictive Disorders at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Canadian Psychological Association.
