Danielle is particularly interested in helping:

Danielle Pomeroy works in the Burlington clinic and offers in-person, virtual and walk & talk sessions. She is a Registered Social worker (RSW) who has spent over 20 years working with adolescents and adults experiencing social, emotional and behavioral challenges.

Danielle has an extensive background in youth justice, mental health, crisis intervention and adolescent and family relationships.  She has spent a significant part of her career working alongside first responders and front-line workers in various settings, including with a Police Service, Community Mental Health Services and Youth Detention Facilities. 

Danielle understands that choosing to do therapy can be difficult, so a strong focus is placed on the therapeutic relationship. She collaborates with clients from a strength-based approach inspired by mindfulness meditation techniques. Client Focused Approaches used in sessions may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. 

Danielle received her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University.  In addition to the Mindful Living Centre, Danielle is a college Professor teaching in Police Foundations and Mental Health courses and is involved in research focused on community mental health crisis care. She is also a certified Yoga Teacher and member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
